CLICK TO GET YOUR LAUNDRY DONE!

Laundry as a business has existed in India since ancient times but it was only after 2010 that organised laundry services started gaining prominence. The shortage of time among working classes coupled with rise in disposable incomes and dual working households are some of the major factors prompting urban Indians to opt for concepts like on-demand laundry services. In fact, the laundry service market in India is expected to increase to USD 76.5 billion in the coming years, according to Euromonitor International. Tapping the immense potential of this segment, a lot of  startups have mushroomed to take a crack at it and one such upcoming brand is Magic Klean from the house of ARKS Multiservices (P) Ltd. “Magic Klean is an on-demand, door-to-door pickup and delivery, dry cleaning and laundry service based in Hyderabad.

WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES
Apart from this mobile app, consumers can also do the booking over the website or simply drop the laundry at a Magic Klean centre. The brand offers an array of services which includes washing, wet cleaning, specialized dry-cleaning, steam ironing, folding and packaging.

Magic Klean prides in having the best team and the most advanced equipment at its disposal. Mabel Jean Rodrigues, Director, Magic Klean, apprises, “We intend to offer our customers simple and stress-free high-quality cleaning options at affordable prices and quick turnaround time to do their laundry. Our core consumer group includes young professionals, college students, working families, service apartments, housing societies, resident educational institutions, corporate offices and hotels, among others.”

PROMOTION AND EXPANSION
The brand aims to open a processing centre along with 10 collection centres in Hyderabad by the end of 2018 and have planned on reaching out to its customers through various marketing channels like social media, online and print advertisements, mailers, newsletters, mobile marketing, direct marketing, radio,
etc. and would invest around 10% of the revenue towards brand-building.

“Having an expertise in franchising and keeping in mind our expansion plans, we have decided to proceed through the franchising route. Typically, the investment required for a collection centre franchise would be anywhere between Rs 3-5 lakhs with an area of around 200- 500 sq. feet and a processing centre franchise would demand an investment of Rs 25-50 lakhs and an area ranging between 1,000-5,000 sq. feet,” Khan informs.
