Raymond has its legacy in retail. What benefits did you have post associating with the brand?

Associating with Raymond has not only given a prestige but we also have grown as a firm.

What skills and competencies you had to put in to become the Raymond franchisee?

The journey from being a multi-brand outlet to a Raymond franchisee was not easy initially, as it was completely new business to us. To become the Raymond franchisee, my father Raj Kumar Agarwal had to put in a lot of hard work and effort.

Any wow moment that you wanted to share…

When we first received the Best Performing Dealer Award in India. We have been amongst the top dealers for more than 20 years.

How long your have been associated with the brand?

Since 1964 we are associated with Raymond. Initially, we were an authorized dealer and then became a franchisee of Raymond in 1994.We started with a single outlet M/s Varieties, which is a brand in the town. We renovated the store (11,000 sq ft) in 2015, giving it the new look and feel. In the same year, we opened another The Raymond Shop in Anisabad (5,000 sq ft) Patna.

Did you receive support from your brand?

Raymond has been kind to us over the years. They have supported us in good and bad times. We consider ourselves as a part of the Raymond family.

What is the company’s role in improvising franchise relationship?

Innovation is the key word, which the company has been doing over the years.

What is your vision and how you are planning to achieve it?

My business vision is to keep growing. And we can achieve it through hard work, experience and innovation.

Please share the renovation’s success story

The store was renovated in March 2015, and since then it is a big success for us, not only in terms of business but also in customer satisfaction and appreciation on the highest standards. Post renovation, our store witnessed growth of 47% in 2015-16.
