US-based Marco's Pizza, which made its India foray last year with its first store in Vadodara (Gujarat), is now eyeing to capture a wider share of the Indian market. Cameron Cummins, Chief Development Officer, Marco's Franchising, LLC in a colloquy with Rashi Mathur talks about the brand presence and opportunities for entrepreneurs in India.
Tell us about your global presence.
We have a presence in India, Puerto Rico and Bahamas. We have deals on the table currently for Kuwait, UAE, Sri Lanka, China and Pakistan.
HOW CAN INVESTORS PARTNER WITH YOUR BRAND?
Opening a Marco's Pizza is relatively inexpensive compared to the cost of starting other casual dining restaurants and owners do not need prior restaurant experience. We educate all our franchise owners on everything they need to know.

Americans are growing choosier about what they feed their families and they want their convenience foods to be high quality too. Marco's hasn't had to do a major image makeover for its pizza because Marco's has always been focused on serving the highest quality pizza using the best available ingredients. Our unique menu, product and ah!thentic will be perfect fit for Indians and different part of countries. Pizza market in India is lot large and we have seen and felt the growth.
TELL US THE EXPANSION PLANS OF THE BRAND.
We are developing 400 stores in next five to seven years. Our biggest concentration and focus is Gujarat. This year we are planning to open seven to 10 stores. We are working with franchisees for Bombay, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and many more cities and states.
