VLCC's founder and mentor, Vandana Luthra, opened India's first transformation centre in New Delhi in 1989. VLCC is a culmination of her vision to make health and beauty accessible to all segments of society. Today, VLCC manages the largest chain of slimming, beauty and fitness centres in south Asia and the Middle East. It runs Asia's largest chain of Vocational Education Academy in beauty and nutrition and manufactures India's most comprehensive range of skin care, hair care and body care products across over 75,000 retail outlets. The company has evolved as a reference point for the wellness industry not only in India but in eight other countries, where our geographic footprint extends to over 260 locations in 120 cities.
What all products and services do you offer?
We have the following business operations: VLCC slimming, skin and hair services centres, VLCC institutes of beauty and nutrition, VLCC personal care and VLCC day spas.
What kind of franchise opportunity do you offer to the franchisees?
We are offering franchise for three of our business formats- a VLCC centre, which is a bigger format and delivers both slimming and beauty services, a VLCC salon which is a smaller format delivering all beauty services such as skincare, haircare, make ups and nail services, but no slimming services and third, a VLCC Institute, which is a part of our education vertical. The VLCC Institute of beauty and nutrition delivers vocational training programmes. Being conscious of the need to maintain quality standards, we have institutionalised a robust training and support system for the franchise outlets, right from the pre-opening stage to the post launch stage of their operations.
Presently, how many franchise and company-owned outlets do you have? What are your expansion plans?
We have over 160 VLCC slimming, beauty and fitness centres in India, of which 40 are franchise. Additionally, there are another 15 franchise outlets that are in the pipeline and shall be operational in the next three months. In addition, to the 51 VLCC institutes of beauty and nutrition, 12 are franchisee-owned.
What qualities do you seek in your prospective franchisees?
Since we understand our brand, business and customers, we are conscious of the need for the right kind of franchisees, who are as passionate about this industry and our brand as we are. The person should also have the required capital to invest. Additionally, what we are looking for is approach towards our brand and his intent to invest his time and energy into maintaining proper quality standards and delivering a good experience to VLCC customers.
