When did you open your first store?

Incorporated at Chennai in 1995, Fruit Shop on Greams Road is a popular chain of juice and shake pubs. Under the visionary leadership of two dynamic friends Harris and Salim, Fruit Shop on Greams Road has extended the brand presence to Dubai as well. Today, it offers a wide array of high quality and exotic trademarked fresh juices and fruit shakes, numbering well over a 100.

What was the reason for entering into franchising?

Fruit Shop on Greams Road plans to tap markets pan-India and has hence entered the franchise business. We invite entrepreneurs with a strong drive and passion for running exclusive juice outlets and with customer understanding to associate with us in establishing a national-level franchise network.

How many juice shops do you own? How much capital and area is required for owning a fruit shop franchise?

At present, Fruit Shop on Greams Road is operating 17 stores across Chennai and four in UAE. For opening a fruit shop franchise, the franchisee would require a minimum area of 700 sq.ft with a minimum investment of Rs 33 lakh.

What type of location do you prefer?

The outlet should be at a place, which is easily accessible to the target audience with a healthy influx of the earning segment of the population, has good connectivity with colleges and commercial areas, attracts high footfalls for the outlet, like corner shops or facing the main road and mall or a high street location or a good neighbourhood location.

How many juice bars are you planning to open by end of this fiscal? Apart from Dubai, in which countries are you planning to expand?

We expect another 10 to 12 stores by the end of this fiscal. Other than India, we expect to expand to places like Srilanka, Singapore, Malaysia , other parts of the Gulf  and eventually to other parts of the world.

How do you see your company's growth in the years to come?

With each of our existing outlets operating in profits and continued expansion in India and abroad, Fruit Shop on Greams Road is at the threshold of a rapid, sustained growth curve. Driven by an insatiable thirst for business excellence, the fruit shop has ambitious pan-India expansion plans and wants to replicate this success in other competitive markets through franchising. We seek dynamic and enterprising individuals with intense interest in our brand and juice pubs to replicate our success story.
