Viewing 40,000 students appearing in CA examinations at various levels across India as an opportunity, ETEN CA forayed into CA coaching industry, which is primarily unorganised. Puneet Jhingan tells us what led to his company’s inception and the expansion plans.

When and how was ETEN CA established?

ETEN CA was established around two years back and has 53 centres presently. There is a dearth of good faculty to coach students for CA, especially in smaller towns, due to which students shift to metros. ETEN CA aims to provide quality coaching to the CA aspirants at their hometown, which substantially saves a lot of cost pertaining to travelling, lodging and boarding expenditure of the students.

Elaborate on satellite-based coaching that ETEN CA offers?

Educomp Tele Education Network (ETEN) CA’s faculty delivers high quality training to CA aspirants through VSAT-enabled learning centres in cities across India. These learning centres will have two-way audio, video and data-enabled faculty lectures for students sitting at Educomp learning centres (ELCs) across the country. Faculty will use ETEN's Smart Attendance System, Smart Assessment System and Audio-Video facilities to see, hear and talk to the students. Each student will be able to mark attendance, raise queries and interrupt faculty apart from responding to polls, multiple choice questions and assessments.

When and why did you choose franchising to expand your presence? What are the target cities?

We started franchising around one year back. We chose franchising as we wanted local business partners to utilise their capabilities and references not only for making this concept highly profitable and popular, but also to handle day-to-day operations of the branch. Having covered northern and central India, we are now looking forward to expand in western and southern belt of India.

How many students are trained at your centres every year? What kind of scholarship plans do you have for meritorious students?

On an average, we have 8500+ students pursuing coaching with us. One of our students scored 100 per cent in accountancy in PCC exam, which entitled him for 100 per cent fee waiver for the remaining subjects for his final.

What differentiates your solutions from that of your competitors?

Firstly, the experienced faculty we have on board with us is the major plus factor. Secondly, our nationwide presence offers the CA aspirants an easy access. Thirdly, we have the facility of video-archives for all our students, which are the recorded session that they can view anytime in case they happen to miss their class.

What kind of training and support do you provide to your franchisees to maintain the quality of coaching at your franchise centres?

This is a centralised training mechanism wherein the certified faculty delivers content from a studio based out of Delhi and transmitted live via VSAT to our entire ETEN CA centres pan India. This way, the quality for transmission and coaching is well maintained and adhered to by us. On the other hand, our Corporate Business Development and Operations team interacts with the franchise branches across India and assists them in day-to-day functioning.
