The Waffle Express, a company having its pilot operations in Pune for more than a year is fast spreading through the franchise route across India in major cities like Mumbai, Chennai and NCR.

Hot Belgian Waffles, originally a European bakery product, is enjoyed across the world as a favourite anytime snack. In western countries it is a popular concept to have waffles in any restaurant or just grab a waffle from a kiosk in a shopping centre. This concept was initiated in India by the founder and owner of the company, Mr Apurva Ghaisas. The company's idea was to sell waffles in India as a singular fast food and started selling waffles exclusively on a kiosk/Cart in major malls and multiplexes.

The Waffle Express makes waffles that are freshly baked in front of the customer and are 100 per cent vegetarian and egg less. It is the only company in India selling 'Hot Belgian Waffles with Ice-cream' on a kiosk.

For a franchisee, the total start-up investment required is Rs 1 to 2 Lakh only. Also a minimum of 15 sq.ft space is desired preferably in a mall/multiplex for operations. The company assures of a very high net return (ROI) to the tune of 40 to 60 per cent of the generated sales with a franchise agreement term of three years. Training and the necessary raw material is provided by the company.
