Papa John's is the world's third-largest pizza chain in terms of sales. Its total sales in the US alone in 2005 including those from franchise stores were around $1.8 billion or six per cent of an estimated $30 billion pizza market in the country.

Papa John's has named Om Pizza and Eats India, an Indian fast food company, as its franchisee, with plans to initially open 100 pizza outlets in northern India to cater to the country's increasing appetite for pizza, estimated to grow at 20 per cent annually.

Two outlets have already opened in the New Delhi suburb of Noida.
