The newly launched Mobile Ashray vans are designed to provide delivery associates with convenient access to rest and hydration facilities without requiring travel to fixed centres.

Expanding its delivery associate welfare initiatives, Amazon India has introduced Mobile Ashray vans, air conditioned rest units positioned across high footfall locations in Delhi NCR. The company also plans to operationalise 50 additional Ashray centres by the end of May 2026 as part of its broader network expansion strategy.

Building on the initiative, Amazon India aims to scale its network of air conditioned Ashray rest centres to 250 locations across the country by the end of 2026. The upcoming additions will strengthen its existing network of 100 centres currently operating in cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.

The newly launched Mobile Ashray vans are designed to provide delivery associates with convenient access to rest and hydration facilities without requiring travel to fixed centres. Equipped with air conditioned seating, clean drinking water, electrolytes, Wi Fi connectivity and mobile charging points, the vans have already witnessed strong usage from hundreds of delivery associates within days of launch.

Designed as an industry wide support initiative, Project Ashray provides free access to its facilities for all delivery associates, regardless of the company they work for. Since the launch of 100 Ashray centres in 2025, the programme has witnessed over one million visits from delivery personnel across multiple organisations.

Salim R Memon, Director Operations, Amazon India, says, "The health, safety, and well-being of associates across our operations network are a topmost priority for us. Ashray was built on a simple idea—that every delivery associate, whether they deliver for Amazon or not, deserves a clean, cool place to rest during their workday. Scaling to 250 centres and taking these facilities directly to delivery associates through our mobile units is a reflection of that commitment. This is also part of our broader investment of over ₹2,800 crore to strengthen associate safety, health, and well-being across our operations network."
