A financial services firm, Unicap Advisory announced the launch of its fund “Unicap Venture Fund – I”. With the launch of this fund, the company aims to raise Rs 2000 million, and the first close is expected to be at Rs 500 million.
A financial services firm, Unicap Advisory announced the launch of its fund “Unicap Venture Fund – I”. With the launch of this fund, the company aims to raise Rs 2000 million, and the first close is expected to be at Rs 500 million.
‘Unicap Venture Fund – I’ is a sector-agnostic fund (except Real Estate) focused on asset-light industries in MSME sector, including IT / ITeS, Logistics, Ancillary companies, Service oriented companies, Media related companies, Import / Export focused companies, to name a few.
Emphasising on a deal size ranging from Rs 20 million to 50 million in a single company, the fund will be managed by the Chief Fund Manager – Sagar Khurana, along with a team of seasoned industry veterans with Venture Capital, Private Equity and Asset Management experience.
According to Sagar Khurana, Director at Unicap Advisory, “Raising capital in the current economic scenario is a challenge for MSMEs as the PE players look for significant-sized companies, while banks & debt lenders require collaterals. At Unicap Advisory, we aim to offer customised solutions to such MSMEs, by bridging this gap of Capital requirement by investing equity/mezzanine capital.”
