B2B marketplace, Tradeindia.com on Monday announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce with the objective to boost Indo-Thai bilateral trade focusing on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
In a release, it stated that the Tradeindia.com and the Thaitrade promotion body which operates Thaitrade.com - the official B2B marketplace of Thailand, have agreed to explore opportunities to promote and market each other through their respective platforms. It includes use of various on-line and off-line marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns. These strategic promotions will help members and SMEs listed on both platforms generate more substantial business opportunities.
Commenting on the MoU, Bikky Khosla, Founder and CEO, Tradeindia.com, said "With India and Thailand doing good business, our objective is to bring SMEs from both countries closer to each other. Collaboration between Tradeindia.com and Thaitrade.com will benefit businesses from both the countries.”
As per statistics of 2011-2012, Thailand is India's 4th largest trading partner in the ASEAN Region. Both countries offer fantastic opportunities for import and export of goods and services amongst each other, thus offering great scope for increased business amongst them in years to come, it added.
As per MoU, it has been finalized that both tradeindia.com and thaitrade.com will explore ways to facilitate business matchmaking for sellers and buyers from both countries. It has been further agreed that both platforms will work together towards developing business objectives of mutual interest through long term business partnership arrangements, the release further stated.
