Assocham secretary reports there is a shortage of labours in textile industry
India’s textiles and clothing industry is in short supply of workers, causing a cut of above 40 per cent in capacity in affected areas. There is a shortage of workers in all segments of textile value chain, Assocham Secretary General DS Rawat said. Adding that the industry needs to pay higher wages, provide health insurance and ensure that factories comply with internationally acceptable standards.
