The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present in its silver jubilee celebrations. The objective of the event would be to envision the future of the Indian IT-ITes industry and its contribution to the growth of the Indian economy.
“Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Minister of State for Finance Sh. Jayant Sinha, will also grace the occasion which is scheduled for the 1st March 2015 at the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi,” informed the press release.
After the program, NASSCOM will host a special discussion with Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance, talking to industry leaders on the Union Budget 2015 and the opportunities in-store for the Indian IT-BPM industry.
The impact of the Indian industry has been universal, across verticals, geographies and customer segments in delivering transformation and innovation. There is a focus on building deeper industry capabilities, co-innovating with partners and corporate venturing supported by a vibrant start-up ecosystem and increased R&D focus to provide access to innovation.
With the completion of 25 golden years of existence, the industry now has an enormous opportunity to collaborate with the Government on its expansive vision where technology will play a vital role in realising India’s dream for the future and assist in nation-building especially in areas like Digital India, Make in India, and Skilling India.
The event will be marked by the presence of industry luminaries like NR Narayana Murthy, Founder, Infosys; Azim Premji, Chairman, WIPRO, N. Chandrasekaran, CEO and MD, TCS, R. Chandrasekaran, Executive Vice-Chairman, Cognizant, and Chairman, NASSCOM, BVR Mohan Reddy, Executive Chairman, Cyient, and Vice-Chairman, NASSCOM; and other industry leaders.
