Textile Secretary Rita Menon while speaking at the Annual General Meeting of Northern India Textile Mill's Association (NITMA) pointed out that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the textile sector required putting efforts for increasing productivity and market share. She further said, "Textile industry should devote more to decentralization and desegregation.”
She opined that the textile industry needs to look beyond the focused markets and hinted towards states like UP, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh which need possess a lot of potential.
She advised to take full advantage of government's policies and the already existing budget for 2010-11 and appealed to NITMA to give full support in the growth and nurturing of SMEs.
