The proposal has been sent to the Centre for approval under the clusters' scheme by the state government as it has approved the proposal in principle.
As per the Mysore District MSME Association, the Mysore Printers' Cluster (MPC) has planned to publish a printers' handbook that will list all the offset, screen printing, plux printing and digital printing establishments in the district, availing assistance from the Centre and State Governments.
An 11-member team of the MPC had recently held discussion with President, Ashok Kumar and Secretary, Mohan Kumar of Karnataka State Printers' Association in Bangalore. The meeting focused on the latest printing technology, the outcome of Bangalore's Printech Park cluster, and benefits offered by the State and Central Governments for printing technology advancement.
S.M.Jamakhandi, Director, MSME Development Organisation and Ravi kumar, Regional Manager, Small Industries Development Corporation were briefed on the MPC proposal of setting up the printers' cluster in Mysore.
