Opposing the government’s decision to allow FDI in multi-brand retail, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that the centre's decision to allow FDI in multi-brand retail would adversely affect small-scale traders in the country.
“The decision to allow FDI in retail would hurt common traders who are not prepared to compete with multinational companies,” said Bhagwat in his replies to questions of RSS volunteers. He was speaking at the 'Chaitanya Shivir' in Jaipur.
As per a press release, Bhagwat said that the government of India should make efforts to create a favourable atmosphere for Indians living abroad.
Bhagwat also said the government should accord refugee status to the Hindus who came to India from Pakistan following religious persecution.
