PHD Chamber Academic Delegation successfully completes mission at Canada
The 18 member PHD Chamber academic delegation to Vancouver, Canada has reached Chandigarh after completing their mission successfully in Canada.

Expressing complete confidence about the outcome of the visit, Dalip Sharma, Director, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chandigarh, said, “The discussions held with Advance Education minister, Amrik Virk and the officials of British Columbia Council for International Education, various Universities and Institutions at British Columbia and Vancouver and the Indo-Canadian institutional tie-ups and agreements held there, would give a major fillip to the Indo-Canadian academic linkages soon.”

“PHD Chamber would provide a single, larger platform, not at the institute level but at the mass level, where maximum institutes can nominate their faculty under such FDPs,” added Sharma.

Sharma shared that representatives of most of the Universities and Institutions visited by the delegation are lined up to visit the North Indian Institutes in the next few months.

The delegation focused on student-faculty exchange programs, twinning programs, professional development programs and other academic arrangements. The delegation has successfully signed the Protocol of understanding with Thompson Rivers University and Sprottshaw Colleges.

Besides Thompson Rivers University and Sprottshaw Colleges, the delegation visited University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Fraser Valley University, and Vancouver Film School etc. during their stay at Vancouver.

Along with the PHD Chamber of commerce and Industry, the senior officials from Department of Technical Education, Haryana State board of Technical Education also joined the mission. Top management members from Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Baddi University, Aryans Group of Colleges, Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions, Madhav University, Manav Bharti University, Ramgarhia Group of Institutes, Sri Sukhmani Group of Colleges, Pathfinders Professional Services & OBCO Migration and Educational consultants were part of the 18 member delegation.

Apart from Amrik Virk, the delegation got an opportunity to interact with the officials of British Columbia Council for International Education, Indian Consul general in Vancouver Ravi Shankar Aisola and their team.

The delegation had an interaction with high level financial authorities of Bank of Montreal and Scotia Bank to understand the financial institutions’ support in the mutual ventures and bilateral trade arrangements.

The members of the delegation expressed satisfaction with their visit and shared that it was a wonderful experience meeting the institutions and other personalities in person and understand the bilateral trade opportunities in the education industry.
