The Odisha state government in a major initiative to boost industrialisation in the state has planned to set up 32,000 industrial units under micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector during the 12th Five Year Plan.
The Odisha state government in a major initiative to boost industrialisation in the state has planned to set up 32,000 industrial units under micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector during the 12th Five Year Plan.
As per the official sources, Rs 16k crore will be invested in developing these units with an aim to create 1.6 lakh jobs.
A detailed discussion was held in Bhubaneswar chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday. Patnaik was informed that the investment in MSMEs was up by 9.96 per cent per annum from 2005 to 2011. Also, over 1.11 lakh MSMEs that were set up in the state by 2010-11 fiscal, was told to Patnaik.
The CM stressed on further development of infrastructure, extending loan to entrepreneurs and also enhancing marketing facilities for them.
A proposal was also made at the meet that government departments should take steps for buying goods manufactured by MSMEs.
