New Zealand Prime Minister John Key is in New Delhi having arrived on Sunday night on a four-day visit during which he will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh on a free trade agreement between the two countries.
He will heads to Agra next to see the Taj Mahal. On Tuesday, Key sits down for delegation-level talks with Manmohan Singh in the evening where a slew of agreements related to trade and cultural exchanges are expected to be signed.
On top of the agenda will be an FTA for which the two sides have already held four rounds of negotiations. India is looking to harness New Zealand's expertise in the agro- processing and cold chain sectors. Expanding educational ties, too, will be in focus as New Zealand hosts nearly 12,000 Indian students who bring in over USD 1 billion a year in tuition fees and living expenses.
It will be Bollywood time for Key and his team in Mumbai Wednesday. Key is expected to visit a film studio in Mumbai and seek greater business ties between Bollywood and his country which boasts of a world-class film industry and some of the most breathtakingly beautiful and diverse landscapes in the world.
