Tech-giant Microsoft on Monday launched an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution called Dynamics AX 2012 focusing on manufacturing, distribution, retail, public sector and service industries to support administrative business processes.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 will help provide faster business value, enable agility, help drive adoption, broaden usage and enable easier maintenance and upgrade through a continued emphasis on simplicity, the company said in a release.

“There has been a rapid growth in our ERP adoption in India especially in the public sector, retail, distribution, services and manufacturing sectors. The newly launched Dynamics AX 2012 will bring customers a powerful, simple and agile business solution that will improve productivity and reduce Total cost of ownership (TCO),” said Samik Roy, Director and Business Head, Microsoft Dynamics (Applications) Business at the launch.

“From a business integration and business consulting perspective, there are some key business requirements that a solution should address effectively. These include the ease with which it aligns itself to enterprise’s business needs, enables better decision making, improves efficiency and productivity and is receptive to business nuances. The product needs to be agile to meet the changing business requirements. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 responds effectively to all these indices of enterprise growth," said Somick Goswami, Director-Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) India, an advisory and tax regulatory services firm.

The software is further supported by a powerful ecosystem that can extend and implement the solution meeting specific vertical and customer requirements. It delivers powerful ERP capabilities and supports operational efficiency in multiple functional areas like supplier relationship management, case management, and the audit work bench, the company added in the release.
