The MSME Development Institute (MSME DI) on March 6, 2014 launched a national web portal which will act as an interactive tool between the MSME sector and PSUs. It will keep enterprises aware of the requirements of the public sector undertakings (PSUs) and send them alerts in case requirements show up which match their products.
The website www.msmeconnect.com is a joint initiative by National Cyber Safety and Security Standards and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
The objective of MSME Connect is to enable MSMEs to face challenges in the globalised market by providing information on various schemes offered by central and state government, incentives packages offered by banks and financial institutions and promote vendor development by connecting large scale industries with small and medium scale units, said an official statement.
It will address the current situation of MSME's and at the same time enhance and improve the business of the sector with right inputs and provides the detailed knowledge about the government schemes.
The website will serve as a meeting point of more than 17 million MSMEs, 10 million entrepreneurs and more than 1,000 PSUs. It is designed to let PSUs and MSMEs list their requirements and products.
