Jharkhand Small Industries Association yesterday slammed the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) for its alleged cold shoulder to the coal requirement of small industries in the state.
A per the MSME memorandum presented to state’s Chief Minister Arjun Munda, "Despite the CCL being the main source for coal and a commitment of not reducing quota of coal allotment to the micro, small and medium industries reached at the meeting at the Mines Department, the CCL has reduced the quota to MSME."
The memorandum was presented to chief minister at a function organised by the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Alleging apathy by CCL towards SMEs, the memorandum said, "Irony is that the people of the state suffer from coal-related pollution, but CCL is cold shouldering the factories bases in Jharkhand."
The memorandum also accused the public sector of selling quality grade coal to outstation customers and said that the closure of bauxite, fireclay, quartz and phelspar in the state have affected small and medium industrialists.
