The department of small and medium units in Bengal is looking at various initiatives to facilitate doing business in the state.
On an interactive session at the MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rajiva Sinha, Principal Secretary, Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Textiles said, “We are looking to appoint a consultant soon who will study various acts and rules applicable to MSME units in Bengal.”
It is also looking to set up a single-window clearance system and create regional facilitation centres to aid mutation and conversion of land. The consultant would approach various chambers of commerce for their opinion and advice the state government within 90 days of its appointment.
The government has also set a target to offer mutation and conversion within a month.
Sinha further said the state government would take a look at the land allotment policy, which facilitates the transfer of land between the land reforms and the state MSME departments.
