The investment by IAN in Lowdownapp Ltd and its service Lowdown with the help of UKTI Innovation Gateway represents the first investment the network has made in the UK
Indian Angel Network’s UK operation has announced an investment in Lowdownapp Ltd, a London based company.
As per the release, IAN’s global network invested in the fast growing mobile software company, which has built Lowdown, a flexible and intelligent mobile app that equips time-crunched business professionals with critical information in advance of important meetings.
Faster than search, the mobile app fuses together a slice of the calendar in-built in the mobile device with a custom-built narrow artificial intelligence engine, presenting information instantly for the benefit of busy professionals. This allows the app to bring together real-time data from a variety of publicly available, Internet-based information sources, including public profiles on popular social networks such as LinkedIn and Twitter, and deliver it to users via one clear and uncluttered mobile view.
The investment by IAN in Lowdownapp Ltd and its service Lowdown with the help of UKTI Innovation Gateway represents the first investment the network has made in the UK. IAN recently established its UK chapter, thereby becoming the first Angel Group globally to launch operations outside of its home country.
David Senior, CEO, Lowdownapp Ltd, said, “The investment raised will be used to fund our outreach to corporate clients globally, as well as expand our reach to consumers and self-employed individuals. Now we can build on this momentum to scale our growth and sharpen our focus on serving our target audiences, thus ensuring the further development of our Lowdown app, as well as companion apps and services, that deliver complex information via a beautifully crafted user interface."
Saurabh Srivastava, co-Founder, Indian Angel Network, said, “IAN has many firsts in its kitty and this is yet another one. The UK is not only a hot bed of technology but also provides an excellent gateway to the continent. IAN looks to therefore partner with UK entrepreneurs and provide them with initial funding but more importantly with mentoring and market access across the globe. We do hope that other entrepreneurs like David Senior and companies like Lowdownapp Ltd. become IAN portfolio companies.”
