According to James Caroll, Senior Vice-President (International), GoDaddy, “There could be about 30 million SMEs in India but only a half million of them have websites. This large gap is an opportunity for the company to tap the SME segment and the pricing will be a key strategy in India, which houses its largest international office.”
GoDaddy offers .IN domain names in the country since 2009 and has presence in Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad but now they would approach SMEs to get themselves online.
“GoDaddy has successfully managed to help small businesses and entrepreneurs grow their businesses,” says Rajiv Sodhi Managing Director and Vice President, GoDaddy India. “What set GoDaddy apart from other Internet providers, the key ingredient, are our customer service and the variety of products that create a one-stop shop for small businesses to be successful.” the statement added
The company has taken up campaigns to assert that building a website was a simple affair and did not need any technical expertise from the customer’s point of view. It saw a potential in rural areas where there were SME clusters,” added Rajiv Sodhi.
“The company has seen 86 per cent growth in the number of customers since it launched a customer care centre in Hyderabad.” Carol added.
