GMASA 2015 to host Entrepreneur Pitch Zone to connect app creators with investors

Chennai will play host for the Global Mobile App Summit & Awards titled GMASA-2015, the two-day summit to be held on 28th and 29th May at ITC Grand Chola.

The official release stated that GMASA will bring together mobile media experts of the industry and provide industry-wide recognition for the best mobile apps.

Speaking at the launch conference, C R Venkatesh, President, GMASA, said, “The tech and app driven world that we are in, we strongly felt the need to provide a platform to share the expertise and encourage the budding entrepreneurs too, and thus GMASA. It gives us double joy to host it in Chennai which is fast gearing up to the startup culture. The event is already shaping up to be a big one given the lineup of speakers and the number of applications that we have so far received for the awards.”

L Hemachandran, Advisory member, GMASA, stated, “To encourage talented youngsters and to recognize them, for the first time ever GMASA will have the Make in India Student App Fest. Sensing the need for a platform to help budding app developers, GMASA will enable students to showcase their innovative app/app idea, and also provide an opportunity to get it off the ground with the help of an angel investor. Apart from student app fest, GMASA will also host Entrepreneur Pitch Zone to connect app creators with investors.”

The release also said that students can submit their apps online for free and the shortlisted ideas will be showcased at GMASA on 29th May to the angel investors.

GMASA will also bring together visionaries who will share their expertise on what is influencing the industry, the road ahead and insight on how to succeed in this marketplace. Key speakers include Suneet Tuli, CEO, Datawind, R.Narayanan, Chairman of XCODE Life sciences, Gul Panag, CFO of Mobie Fit, Kushal Sangavi, Business head of Reliance entertainment, Senthil, COO of Frilp, Aloke Bajpai, CEO of IXIGO.com among other prominent ones.

“Any mobile app developer with an app on the Google App or Apple store can apply for GMASA awards. GMASA also offers the winners a chance to contact potential sponsors and partners as well as workshops on to how to turn your local app into a global success. GMASA will feature an exhibit hall too to showcase some of the most exciting mobile technology available,” said an official.
