Edu-gaming startup LogicRoots raises $400K from CLUB ah!

The deal saw participation of angel investors from 91Springboard and Calcutta Angels as well.

LogicRoots, a technology driven edu-gaming company, has raised a $400K through ah! Ventures’ investment platform CLUB ah!. Besides the investors from ah! Angels, the deal saw participation of angel investors from 91Springboard & Calcutta Angels as well. The deal was advised & syndicated by ah! Ventures and led to closure on its private equity investment platform, CLUBah.com.

Founded in late 2011, LogicRoots uses technology and gamification to boost Math practice by 20 times for kids. The team has developed proprietary Math games and app that systematically address the entire Math curriculum for grade 1 to 5 and helps students generate more practice, WILLINGLY. Further, Math having a global appeal, LogicRoots is one of the very few product start-ups with eyes on global pie. Their games are selling well in US. Mathaly, the app, is ranked as one of the top 50 educational apps in US on windows platform.

"Everyone from parents, teachers, and even governments are trying to PUSH learning, which is not only very expensive in terms of time and effort but also highly ineffective in terms of the learning outcome. At Logic Roots, we are generating the PULL to practice by gamifying learning and the impact is visible from the user feedback,” said, Gunjan Agrawal, co-founder, LogicRoots.

Going forward, LogicRoots team will focus on the app, Mathaly, with US and Indian parents in mind. Mathaly, unlike other solutions, offers 2 core benefits. First, unlike other apps, Mathaly systematically addresses entire Math curriculum from grade 1 to grade 5 through 650 granular skills. The skill set ensures it is always aligned to any curriculum guideline across the world including NCERT-India, NCTM-Singapore or NC-US. Secondly, Mathaly has huge repeat value among kids. Due to gamification, students willingly come back and practice Math, which is unheard of as far as books or digital classrooms are concerned.

"Over the course of next 12 months our focus is to build stickiness and repeat value among students for Mathaly. Mathaly will see extensive gamification, newer levels, powers and more adventures, all while kids are practicing Math. Further, we will add depth to the artificial intelligence engine behind Mathaly to make the learning experience truly personal for every child. We want to really Reinvent How Kids Practice Math" said, Kunal Gandhi, co-founder, Logic Roots.

"Kunal and Gunjan are my batchmates from IIT Bombay and when they met me for raising funds for Logic Roots, I had no second thoughts about it. I know both of them very well and they form an incredible team. On top of that, specialized gaming is a very interesting space. It's still new for India, but it's picking up very fast globally. I also checked their board game and it's quite impressive. They have achieved very good traction internationally in very less time and have plans to get into more specialized games in near future."
