While inaugurating the 'Uttar Poorva Khadi Gramodyog Mela' organised by the North East Zone of KVIC at Dilli Haat, Kumud Joshi, Chairperson, KVIC said “The development of Khadi and Village Industries (KVI) in the North East region is a priority area under the KVI sector.”
Every year exhibitions of different levels are being organised in order to promote and open better market avenues for the KVI products in the North East Zone.
For 2009-10 the performance has already crossed the previous year's achievement. In order to achieve rapid expansion of KVI program in this zone untiring efforts are being made to enroll new institutions under the fold of KVIC and the response is encouraging. Already five new institutions have been enlisted under KVIC and more proposals are under process.
Khadi & Village Industries products have great demand on account of their eco-friendly character and natural base.
