CustomFurnish.com raises Rs 16 crore from SIDBI, other investors

Serial entrepreneur Dr. Madhukar Gangadi of MedPlus Group raises Rs 16 crore for his venture CustomFurnish.com a group of investors and debt from Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). The investors include Satish Reddy, Chairman, Dr Reddy's Laboratories; Srini Raju, Founder, Peepul Capital; Srini Koppolu, Founder, Hyderabad Angels; and Anil Chalamshetty of Greenko group.

"We saw it as an opportunity to revamp the customer experience of online market for furniture. Our aim is to remove the constraints of catalogue based model of selling and replace it with an interactive approach that allows an almost infinite choice of designs." said Dr Madhukar Gangadi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CustomFurnish.com.

Taking the convenience of online shopping a notch higher, custom-made furniture e-tailer, CustomFurnish.com, announces the launch of its services in Hyderabad today. The company intends launching its services across Bangalore and Chennai early next month. The venture is launched in the presence of Srini Koppolu, Chairman of Setu Software and Angel Investor.

CustomFurnish.com has an easy to use interface that allows customers to turn interior designer and do up their home furniture according to their choice of colour, style, design, size. With its vertically integrated model it turns customers' ideas into reality seamlessly. Currently CustomFurnish.com operates its own manufacturing unit and delivery centre in Hyderabad, which serves as a hub for the entire country.
