Earlier today, Mittal said in a blog post, “I am now on a lookout for a co-founder and an opportunity, which provides me with an uncompromising mix of fun and challenge over the next many years. I look forward to help, support and guidance from my friends in start-up, investing and corporate world, as I charter into what is always an unknown territory.”
He further mentioned in the blog, “At Canaan, we have built partnerships with entrepreneurs who we feel are very proud to be associated with. We will continue to back and support those relationships, both institutionally and personally.”
Mittal joined Canaan in 2006. Prior to joining Canaan, he co-founded JobsAhead.com, a web-based recruitment business, which was acquired by Monster.com. He is also co-founder of Indian Angel Network. Mittal’s current deals include BharatMatrimony, CarTrade, Eqitas, Happiest Minds, IndiaProperty, iYogi, mCarbon and UnitedLex, as representative of Canaan.
The 42-year-old holds a BE degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Delhi and an MS degree in Computer Science from UC Berkeley in the US. Mittal had previously worked at Hughes Software Systems.
