An all India study will be commenced by MSME Development Institute to find ways of developing MSMEs into SMEs and further into medium and large corporates. The motive behind this central government initiative is to identify challenges hindering their growth.
Talking to the media on small & medium business (SMB), director of MSME Development Institute, Indore, Ds Mandloi said, "The study will begin here (Indore) next week. We are waiting for a model questionnaire from the government before we begin and soon the banks will have a nodal officer at zonal level, whose job will be to provide complete information about various schemes for the SME finance being run by the state and the Centre.”
"All stakeholders will be brought to the board, while during the study. There are 4.6 lakh SMEs in the state(Madhya Pradesh). However, very few have been able to upgrade themselves," said director, SME IndiaForum, Sushma Morthania.
