Trends That Are Going To Transform The Primary Education Industry

With the evolution of technology and constant innovation is hugely impacting the education industry. The education industry is changing with leap and bounds with the onslaught of technology. One cannot ignore its presence as even a toddler knows how to operate a smartphone. Last year the industry witnessed the emergence of Artificial Intelligence which was the hot topic among every industry. It influenced the education industry also, as CBSE introduced AI as a subject in the curriculum.

It is important for the education businesses to stay relevant, and for that, it is important to take note of the emerging trends. Here is the list of following trends which will impact the primary education in 2019.

Integrated Learning

With almost every child having a smartphone in their hand, one cannot inculcate it in education. But, educators also realize the harmful effect of using technology too much. So, they have developed an integrated method of learning which will include ‘Chalk & Board’ method along with smart technology which will help the kids to learn better. Integrated learning solutions that seamlessly combine print books with digital learning aids appear to be a great fit for India, and their demand is expected to surge significantly in the coming years.

Skill-Based Learning

Skill training has been the talk of the town since last few years. According to a recent study, 65 percent of today’s grade school kids will end up at a job that hasn’t been invented yet. These jobs are primarily going to be focusing on the skill set which will be the need of the hour. Our curriculum focuses more n theoretical mode of learning, lacking in developing various skills.

It has been stated in various talks that academic prowess is losing its magnitude in comparison with human virtues. which is usually not taught in schools.

Skill-based learning is going to be the future of primary education, as it will help teach students basic virtues like people management, teamwork, compassion, which are now being looked upon as important skills, right from the kindergarten age.

Learning through regional Language

India is the land of diversity. Our heritage comprises of various regional languages and hence, rendering anything via one language alone will be rather ineffective in terms of reach.

But in recent years, we’ve seen Indian schools aspiring to compete on an international level and forgetting their roots by totalling eliminating regional languages from the curriculum.

But the trend of learning through regional language is growing. Earlier this year, Google announced support to seven Indian languages through Google Translate. Regional language publishing is itself on the rise given the demand from vernacular learners.
