The MBD Group, one of the leading education companies in India with over six decades of experience since 1956, has been guided by the futuristic vision of the Founder of the Group, Ashok Kumar Malhotra. The group has diversified into various industries including E-Learning, M-Learning, Skill Development, Capacity Building Programmes, Eco-Friendly Notebooks, Stationery, Paper Manufacturing, ICT Infrastructure, Hospitality, Real Estate, and Mall Development and Management. The group has unveiled Robotics for School Education – which is in line with STEM education. Also, it has invested in AR and VR space in education. She adds, “With the aim of bridging the gap between the supply and demand of skilled manpower, MBD Skills Division provides skill development training in the field of Education, Hospitality and Entrepreneurship. MBD Disha is another arm which is a Teacher Capacity Building Program for teachers, principals and school educators in India.”

Secrets of building a legacy brand tokeep the brand value intact

Monica says, “We have always focused on developing our products for masses; our products are priced to suit the pockets of many. Also, our content is easy to understand and is for every platform, be it online or offline (print, digital, apps) so that it can reach the readers through any medium. We constantly innovate; whenever we plan to do something new, we keep an eye on the emerging future trends and design products accordingly.”

She adds “We are the ones who have face-lifted the way education look like when we came up with reference books, we were the pioneers in that. Also, we are the only publisher which publishes books for all classes, all subjects, and all educational boards in India and in most of the languages spoken in the country along with a few international languages. And, most importantly, whichever country we go to, we design products which are indigenous in terms of their curriculum. All this comes under our forte and we have maintained this for years.”

One of the key initiatives taken by us at MBD Group to make decision making an agile process is the delegation of authority.
