Preschool franchises are disrupting the education industry for quite some time. Parents are increasingly demanding quality pre-schools for their toddlers.

According to Kumar, factors like rising parent concerns and awareness about early childhood education and care, coupled with an increasing number of nuclear families and working women population are expected to contribute to the growing demand for preschool/child care centres in the country over the course of next five years.

“Moreover, rapid urbanization has led to an increase in brand consciousness and penetration of many international preschools in the country. This has consequently resulted in the emergence of innovative and advanced infrastructure as well as quality education in the preschools across the country,” he added.

Organised Players dominating the Pre-school Market

Almost a decade back the market was dominated by the grandmother-run-crèches or similar informal arrangements. Today, parents are looking for a large parameter; something which is scientifically designed Technique-backed and Result-oriented.

Increasing Scope in Small Towns

Small towns and cities were often neglected by major players owing to many difficulties in establishing a business and low reception rate. However, with an increase in literacy rate, disposable income, awareness and the ease of doing business, has made smaller towns a potential market for franchises. Especially, pre-school franchises hold great potential in small towns and cities.

“Our aim is to reach to the districts and small towns of India and provide quality interactive early education to children. We are also trying to strengthen the after-school learning with a strong emphasis on experimentation and exploration,” said, Kumar.

Impact of Technology

Technology has impacted every aspect of our lives. Technological advancements have disrupted every industry, from retail to education and are being increasingly used for better.

“The use of technology in the classroom is increasing: Many teachers adopt technical devices in their early childhood classrooms helping them to support each child’s learning development more easily,” stated, Kumar.

Importance of Location

Kumar explained, “One a first place you should never open another franchise of the same playschool brand in the nearby locality. Thus, look for a nursery segment who assures a restricted school radii and operational place in the locality for every franchise. Also, we should always keep in mind the convenience of kids also. This will help your franchise to have greater chances of success and a place for operation along with more enquiries and enrollments.”

Personalised learning is now a major movement in education.  With the rapidly growing use of digital technologies in every field, students are expecting a similar kind of personalised attention in the education sector that they are getting as customer service from various companies. Cambridge Montessori Pre School and Day Care operated in both franchising and COCO model. An investment of 10 to 12 lakhs is required for Cambridge Montessori Pre School Franchise in India. To qualify as a Cambridge Montessori Pre School and Daycare Franchise in India, you need to have a property with an area of at least 3000 sq. feet. The brand assures an ROI of 40-50%.

Cambridge Montessori School has signed up more than 100 schools within a short span of approximately 1.5 years and aspires to have more than 1000 schools by 2022.

“We are also planning to open Elementary schools across India, Our First Elementary school likely to Open In August – September 2019 in Jaipur,” said, Kumar.

The benefits of franchising as a means of expanding a business are twofold. One, it involves low capital investment by the franchisor as the capital used to expand the network comes from franchisees. Two, by franchising the business, the franchisor places the expansion of his/her business in the hands of people who are motivated to make it work. Having invested what in many cases are their life savings in a franchise, franchisees will strive to make the business successful.
