"At Little Kickers, we are very focused on teaching the kids through the classes or learning through play. And we like to phrase it as ‘edutainment", says Ben Porter
In an exclusive interview with educationbiz, Mr. Ben Porter, Director, International Business, Little Kickers speaks about Edutainment, which happens to be a unique concept followed by Little Kickers.
How has Little Kickers been different from other Pre schools, and also in a space where competition seems to be the ultimate goal?
Little Kickers is operating in 30 different countries and we have close to 300 franchisees worldwide and more than 50000 children enrolled in our classes every week.
Firstly, we are offering a new age group. Most people enter the football industry at around 7 years of age. So tracking a new age group is very important because we don’t have many competitors out there. On top of that, Edutainment is something which we really believe in because if people are coming to our classes just to learn football that is not what we do. We are very focused on teaching the kids through the classes or learning through play. And we like to phrase it as ‘edutainment’.
Tell us about your collaborations so far.
We do have a few sponsorships at the work front right now. But because of people over play mentality, it is difficult to find that right sponsor who can keep our core values intact.
With such a unique concept of Edutainment in the Education space, what role does franchising play in order to cater to the masses?
When it comes to reaching out, there are 2 ways which we follow. Firstly, it is the online marketing where we expect people to come to our classes. Taking that step forward, we also go to schools. As I had already mentioned, it is a brand new concept, so all our franchisees have a different way of approaching to pre schools and showing them the importance of Edutainment factor.
