What was the idea behind Little Pearls?

Little Pearls was founded 24 years ago. And the vision of Little Pearls is to provide wonderful experience to childhood. With the change in scenario, people are looking for good setups where they can send their children when they are not around. Children are pushed into Education at an early age. We, at Little Pearls, do not want to rob children of their childhood. Our aim is to provide them with an environment where they can thrive, grow and develop.

Going by the concept of, ‘How to think and not What to think’, in almost all the Pre Schools in India, how rightfully is it being implemented in Little Pearls?

We do not believe in formal teaching. Going by the norms of any other Preschool, we slightly differ from the rest. At Little Pearls, our focus is beyond any formal teaching or training for the children. We believe in providing a stimulating environment where a child can respond and grow and be socially adaptive. The idea of ‘How to think and What not to think’ doesn’t work with our format of learning.

Apart from play, how is the curriculum framework at Little Pearls?

Little Pearls follows EYLF, which is the Early Years Learning Framework. Presently I am catering to 20 different nationalities and the EYLF is the framework accepted and followed by countries like UK, Australia and elsewhere. For an action based learning a broad and purposeful curriculum is designed and an optimum teacher-student ratio ensures effective implementation of this curriculum resulting in confident, creative and eager learners. The curriculum is designed keeping in mind different aspects of child development.

Are there enough play opportunities to develop the fine motor skills?

Our curriculum is completely based on that. It’s all about doing and learning. We do not believe in theoretical learning.

What parameters are looked upon while recruiting teachers?

In terms of recruiting teachers we focus on their passion, attitude and then fetch for their qualification and how much experienced they are. Also, we closely monitor if the teaching staff is able to adapt to our methodology and system. Accordingly, we recruit the teachers in our Institution.
