The most successful entrepreneurs are usually voracious readers. Reading is one of the easiest and fastest ways of learning from the experiences of others. Scott Thompson, CFE, Senior Vice President of Global Franchise Development, Tutor Doctor (Georgia) also suggests that reading is one of the best tips for first-time franchisees.

“There are some great books like E-myth Revisited by Dr. Gerber, Jim Collins’ Good to Great, and Traction by Gino Wickman. Those are my 3 favourites,” said Gerber.

Below is the list of books for start-ups to help them grow in business in order to become a successful entrepreneur.

“Take Charge” by Gaurav Marya

Gaurav Marya, The Chairman of Franchise India has penned down many books especially on franchising and entrepreneurship. His book "Take charge" is about building an Entrepreneur Mindset. This book will help young entrepreneurs to develop entrepreneurial mindset strategies that will build excellence in enterprise.

Gaurav Marya has shared the tips on how to build a team that works for the vision of one that’s shared by all. It challenges the readers to demand more from self and always look higher. “The E-Myth Revisited” by Michael E. Gerber

There are many misconceptions out there about starting your business and being a successful entrepreneur. Michael E. Gerber dispels each myth and walks you through the real-life steps of having a business and shows how commonplace assumptions can get in the way of running a business.

Gerber also shows how to apply the lessons of franchising to any business. The E-Myth is an excellent read that teaches you to work on your business and become successful as an entrepreneur in today’s era.

“Unfinished” by Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra has not only created mark through her talent, but also through her entrepreneurial spirit and attitude. “Unfinished” is a book which aims to inspire women to dream big and aim to achieve everything in life. The Quantico star also runs her own production house called Purple Pebble Pictures. Women Entrepreneurs can take inspiration from the short stories and personal experiences of Chopra’s life.

“Very Good Lives” by J.K. Rowling

‘Very good lives’ presents words of wisdom of the celebrity writer, J.K. Rowling for anyone at a turning point in life. Harry Potter nerds and business buffs alike will devour this book, which is drawn from a commencement speech Rowling gave at Harvard University.  

It is for those entrepreneurs who are facing the grim realities of being broke and failing. Drawing inspiration from her own life, she explains the benefits of failure and the crucial importance of imagination. One of the messages of the book is to always follow your dreams.

“Traction” by Gino Wickman

Traction is hands down the best start-up marketing book. This book introduces start-up founders to the ‘Bull’s-eye framework’, a five-step process successful companies use to get traction. This framework helps founders find the marketing channel that will be key to unlocking the next stage of growth.
