The Eureka Moment
Shrey Aggarwal (Founder, The Belgian Waffle Co.) was working in Manila abroad and there he came very close to unveiling the various interesting food concepts, which were available. Waffle as a concept attracted him.
The tantalising aroma of waffles served in the lanes of a foreign land enticed Shrey Aggarwal to bring this concept home.He saw tremendous potential to bring the product to India in a big way, customized in an easy to eat and affordable format. This led to the birth of The Belgian Waffle Co.
From A Small Kiosk to 170+ Outlets
The branded started out as a small kiosk at an INOX cinema in Mumbai. Today, they’ve expanded to 170+ outlets across to the country. The brand adopted franchise model for expansion to not only make it scalable but also encourage young entrepreneurs to buy into their vision and spread the warmth.
Shrey believes that their light and delicious eggless batter and right location is what worked in favour of them. The brand is also looking to expand into newer verticals which will help them in leveraging their pan-India presence.

Belgian Waffle Co.’s business model envisages two-fold revenue: one, through retailing products in company owned stores and catering; two, through partnership with franchisees. The brand is looking to expand into tier-2 cities, a lucrative market for the F&B industry and has also expanded its presence to neighbouring country Nepal.
“We have establishes our presence in Nepal and are actively looking at other neighbouring countries. We have a product of global standard and this category is well-received across international borders,” asserted, Aggarwal.
