Trade fairs are considered to be a great platform where entrepreneurs gather at a venue, promoting their service and products.
Mostly happening throughout the year, one can check out, taste various cuisines, and handle products suiting one.
Ambiente is the leading International Trade Fair and world’s number one in products associated with dining, cooking, household goods, gift items, jewellery, and more. In 2018, Ambiente attracted 4,376 exhibitors from 88 countries, exhibiting their innovative products and services.
Being the second Asian nation after Japan, Ambiente has chosen India as a partner country in 2019.
Will allow investors to tap new markets
Ajay Tamta, Minister of Textiles expressed his view on India becoming a partner country for Ambiente 2019 stating, “We export to the US and countries in Europe, but we are missing from a few countries. This will allow our exporters to tap new markets.
India is a land of skilled craftsmen, often lacking the opportunities to showcase their talent. Thus, Ambiente will prove to be a great platform to showcase the traditional Indian handlooms and handicrafts.
It is believed that this will be a trend changer, transforming the lives of local artisans, exporters, entrepreneurs, and the handloom industry.
Handicraft: An employment generating sector
Export Promotion Council of Handicrafts (EPCH) claims the handicraft sector to be the employment generating, foreign exchange earnings, and a cottage sector of the Indian economy. According to a report, the sector is constantly showing a growth of around 10 per cent from the past nine years.
“I am very pleased that we were able to win the Republic of India as a partner country for the next Ambiente. India has an incomparable diversity, a rich culture and also a tradition of art and craft. It’s also among our absolute top countries in terms of exhibitors,” said Stephan Kurzawski, Senior Vice President, Messe Frankfurt Exhibitions.
