In an interview, John Howard, President, Chem- Dry- International Development speaks about challenges his cleaning brand is facing in India and the expansion plans.
What challenges are you facing to expand your brand in India?
Our main hurdle is the business sector. We are yet to gain recognition as company that can offer best practices and best pricing on meeting the commercial and domestic cleaning needs in India. Our Master Franchisees merit world class training on restorative needs related to carpet, stone/ tile, upholstery and drapery cleaning.
What strategy do you follow to meet the same?
We are finding local partners to join our training and cleaning programs with the local business person who understands the vicinity market and can accept our brand with the consumer needs. Each day exceeds with over 10,000 cleanings and we know well that our continued growth relies on meeting our customers’ needs.
How can an entrepreneur become a franchisee of Chem-Dry in India?
We have partnered with FranGlobal in India to assist development of this vast market, as they will take our brand ‘step by step to meet the needs of the customers and assist our franchisees to achieve their goals.
What opportunities are you offering to investors in India?
We are seeking Regional Master Franchisees. The territory will be a state (like Tamil Nadu) and the opportunity lies to develop a market with sub- franchise operations throughout the state.
How many centres/ franchisees do you have in London?
We currently have over 200 franchise operations in the UK and are in the midst of helping many customers due to the recent flooding in the Midlands, as Chem-Dry is one of the mainstay operations for water remediation.
