An expert in the field of cooking proficiency, Ramni Ralhan, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Perfect Cookery, in a conversation with Rashi Mathur, talks about her success journey and how she is successfully spreading culinary knowledge all over through the medium of Perfect Cookery classes.

What motivated you to begin this venture?

With the growing awareness of the effect that food has on health and well-being, there is a great demand for culinary professionals who can prepare food that is not only delicious but health supportive as well. Perfect Cookery classes are organised with the aim of spreading unique art of cooking among those who value the importance of tasty food in their lives.

Enlighten us about your entrepreneurial journey and achievements.

I have a rich experience of more than 30 years in skill of imparting practical cookery knowledge. I have been bestowed with rewards and acknowledgement from the state government and reputed associations. I have been a regular invite on T.V cookery shows for various channels like 9X, ETV, CNEB. It is an achievement for us when our students imbibe culinary skills from us and open their own restaurants, cafe and catering businesses.

Elaborate about your course structure.

Perfect Cookery has been conducting courses since 1987. The courses are conducted in such a manner that even a beginner may achieve perfection. We strive to provide thorough knowledge and understanding of health supportive foods, their properties and preparation. We have provided education and leadership in the field of health-supportive culinary arts and theory.

 A word on your brand’s presence.

People from Delhi and adjoining areas have turned to us for food and health vocational classes to learn the basics of healthy cooking. We cover a wide range of recipes ranging from authentic Indian cuisines to other cuisines from all parts of the world.

What sort of support do you provide to your franchisees?

Franchisees are given training at our head office. Operating manuals are provided to them for better understanding. They are given marketing assistance and advertisement support as well.

How do you conduct your classes?

Classes are conducted round the year. The number of students is limited to 10 so that personal attention is paid to each candidate to gain confidence and first-hand experience. The duration of courses extends between one to three days, depending on the variety of dishes covered. The practice oriented classes are held in a studio kitchen with the latest cooking appliances. Typeset of the recipes are given to all students. Missed classes and repeat recipe demonstrations are made available. On completing any 10 major courses, the student gets a certificate and 10 per cent discount on all courses thereafter.

How are your students fairing through your courses? Do you provide any special support to women in particular?

Some of our students have already started their cookery classes in Delhi and other cities. Many of them are taking orders for cakes, cookies, brownies, chocolates, designer cakes from their own places. Some students are taking orders in multi-cuisine and supplying for kitty parties, birthday parties and Tiffin services. We have special courses for house wives in bakery confectionery and multi-cuisines. They are doing commendably well. We have cookery classes for travellers. We have chef training courses also.
