Personalisation is the key to profits

It took the brand only four years to become one of India’s leading personalised gifting companies. Today, Red Moments offers the most trustworthy business model and is spreading its wings fastly. Manish Vora, Director of the brand shares Red Moments’ odyssey and discusses about future plans.

Please tell us about Red Moments.

Gifting industry offers a huge potential but for many years it was crawling in the genre of regular gifts only. To explore the true potential of this industry we came up with a concept of personalisation. Turning a regular gift into a lifetime memento was a challenge. But as assumed, people liked it profusely. Seeing their reaction, we introduced our franchise model in 2009.

What kind of products a Red Moments store offers?

It’s like you name it and we have it. To be very precise, you dream it and we have it. Though we are specialised in personalised mugs, still we have a wide range of personalised products like photo frame, key chains, table top, certificates, cushions, clocks, mementos, t-shirts, mouse pads, mobile covers, coaster and many other things. Last year we forayed into general gifting industry too. We possess over 400 unique personalised products and 40 general products. We believe gifts are for all, thus we create gift articles for every age group and for every occasion. Repeated footfalls of our esteemed customers are the proof of the success of our products. Our range of products are of the highest standards of quality and of best designs that makes any of our franchise a one stop shop for any buyer. We value for money and that’s why we bring the latest and most innovative array of products in such a price range that suits every pocket.

What is your expansion plan?

We already have over 60 operational stores pan-India. We are planning to open 300 stores by 2018. We are present overseas too. We have proud franchise owners in the UAE, Australia, South and East Africa.

How do you help a franchisee?

We understand people’s anxiety regarding opening a business. That’s why we associate with our franchisees right from counseling, followed by training to installation and marketing assistance. We leave no stone unturned to ensure the venture’s success.

How do you make your presents so presentable?

Our presents are born out of innovative gifting concepts that would be treasured by the recipient for years. Personalisation is the latest concept where you need to print a message or photo on a wide range of gifts and you have an instant winner of a gift. We offer an array of products like ceramics, clocks, chocolates, fabric based, lighting devices and unique gifts for special occasions.

What are the investments required?

As the franchise model is very consumer oriented, it bears a minimum investment. For raw material and necessary processing machine, the investment is around Rs 4-5 lakh. For furniture and fixtures, it is around Rs 1500-1800 per sq ft including flooring, ceilings, electricals, AC and product display structures. And the refundable security deposit will be Rs 2 lakh.
