Luxury wooden flooring brand Notion is tapping the unorganised market in a big way and establishing its base via the franchise route in India. In a talk with Franchise India, Akash Saini, Director, Notion, shares more on the market and his brand’s plans.   

Tell us about your brand Notion.

Our name reflects our ideology that’s “creative idea.” In 2015, we have launched high creative products. We have become the first Indian company to offer “colours of client’s choice” with no MOQ which allows any of our customer to choose from more than 100 decors in engineered wood flooring. We also have become the first company to offer more than 20 stock keeping unit (SKU) in outdoor deck flooring.

What are the latest business trends in wooden flooring industry?

Customers are opting for high quality and value for money products, where we see an edge.

What is your say on the present market of wooden flooring?  

Wooden flooring has a market share of close to 6% as on today, and tends to grow by 30% every year.

What kind of competition do you have from other players?

As a portfolio, we do not have much competition as we have vast range of product profile and much more to offer than our competitors.

What opportunities does your brand provide to franchisees?

We see an increasing demand in the market  and a great response from clients who would like to buy goods from authorised and organised companies rather than going to unorganised stores. To our franchisees, we will offer platform a lucrative business plan. We will handhold our partners by giving them training  in operations & technical support.

We aim to complete our 100 store programme by 2016 end and foresee our brand to enter international market soon.
