Neha Gohil (NG): How was the idea of Vemma conceptualised?
Ketan Bheda (KB): BK Borekyo CEO, Vemma, USA, envisioned an idea of developing super liquid a nutritional drink for wellness of individuals and giving people great health and option for creating wealth by distributing and retailing manufactured products through their own franchise locations.

NG: When and why did you plan to expand via franchising? How significant is this model for your expansion?
KB: Vemma was started in India in January 2011 and since then we are expanding. Vemma gives an opportunity to individuals to start their own home-based business and get great health. We are multi-level marketing company, popularly known as MLM in India. A solid and cash rich company, with powerful binary volume base business model, that gives solid strength and growth to new franchisees.
NG: Where have you marked your presence in India and abroad till date via franchised and company owned outlets?
KB: In India Vemma operates from Mumbai. Vemma is present in more than 58 countries around the globe. Every franchisor has opportunity to expand their business across the globe, where Vemma operates. As of now there are 2,000 brand partners enrolled in India and more than one lakh worldwide.
NG: What are the company’s further expansion plans?
KB: We plan to have one lakh Vemma brand partners in India in the next five years.
NG: What is the eligibility criterion for a prospective franchisee? What is your preference in terms of area and investment?
KB: People who care about other people and have a desire to change their financial condition and improve their personal health are the skills we seek in our partners. As this is home-based online business, one does not require specific area to start with. Maximum investment of Rs one lakh is required however the franchisee can start with as little as Rs five thousand per month or Rs 60 thousand per year.
NG: What according to you is the scope for aspiring franchisees in the business? Is the future of the industry bright?
KB: Scope is tremendous. People want to start their own business. They want to be their own boss and desire to be independent. So, Vemma is a perfect opportunity for those who want to start their own business at low investment and unlimited potential of income. Vemma is perfect genuine opportunity for those who want to leverage their time, contacts, and their relationships.
NG: What kind of training and support do you provide to your franchisees?
KB: Vemma Team Direct has brand partner training program, corporate trainings, conference, web training, and a free web site to conduct business. A dedicated relationship manager is there for brand partners to develop their business. We also provide phone call support and conference to develop the business of our brand partners. We also have marketing website to promote business and a back office website to expand and monitor business.
NG: What challenges does your franchisee face at the initial stages? How can they overcome the challenges?
KB: There are lots of network marketing companies doing business in India, some are excellent, some are good and some are imperfect. In India people look at home-based business with strange eyes. One has to select and gather proper information, do some research about company and then enroll with them, and has to work with committed results with defined goal.
