As per market analysis, the e-commerce industry in India, which is now at $15 billion, is expected to touch $100 billion in the next five years. On the other hand, consulting business is also maturing by the day and the brands are focusing more on the e-route segment to gain optimum business.

According to reports, the Indian consulting market has seen a growth of about 4 per cent in the recent years despite the economic slowdown. Online business which is defined as Internet business has become indispensable part of any consulting business today.

“Since, online banking and transfers have become more secured, e-commerce has become a must have aspect of any consultancy service. Ease of access to services, more convenient ways of communication through emails or chats, and authentic services at your door, all these facilities attract more clients towards your business,” comments Neeraj Mehta, Director, GFFI Fitness Academy (India).

On the online consulting market, Kailash Shahani, Founder, Morpheus Human Consulting Pvt Ltd, says, “Though ours is a business which is offline specific but, yes, the online presence plays a very important role in building the brand and driving sales. If I talk of this in reference to franchisees, then I can say 80 to 90 per cent of our franchisees come through online thing. After going through our website and searching information about our brand, they approach us.”

Different brands are adopting different ways to cash in on the online trend and to fully optimise this segment.  “We write health and fitness articles for different web portals like healthsite, DesiMD and for our website also. We get pretty amazing results from there with over 100 reviews in one week. So many people read those articles and get in touch with us to get associated with our brand thus we promote writing articles. Internet has a wide reach and it is helpful in reaching out to the clients. About 60 per cent of students opt for our services through online medium only,” shares Neeraj Mehta.
