Share with us your entrepreneurial journey.

We are in the F&B business for more than a decade now. We have been running a Juice Bar brand for more than nine years and wanted to enter the QSR market. We did a lot of research and felt there is a big space for Rollas and Shawarma in the Indian market. In 2012, Black Orchids Pvt Ltd launched 'Rollacosta' as a unique concept in the world of Rolls & Shawarma. Purely through word of mouth of our Rollas, Shawarma & Quickies, Rollacosta is expanding in all major cities in India. We have now expanded to more than 15+ cities pan-India.

What business model do you follow for expansion of Rollacosta?

The concept clicked and seeing the success we had few inquiries by way of word of mouth to start the concept in different cities. Yes, we have customised the concept as per the taste and likeness of the Indian consumers. We have OTC (Over the counter) and Lounge Model only. They cater to different needs as per the location. OTC model is a take away and express model whereas Lounge model is more like a full-fledged restaurant model.

What is the USP of your company?

Rollacosta is a fast-food concept with the simple aim of providing consumers with great tasting Rollas, Shawarmas, Sandwiches, Boosters, Quickies, Beverages, and Pastas.

Rollas are a unique and delicious dish prepared according to individual preference for great variety. We have the best rollas in town for a quick and healthy snack appealing to varied palates. We have introduced Indian cuisine and Biryanis which has become a huge hit. Our combo meals are a great hit among the college going people.

What opportunities do you offer to franchisees?

We provide our franchisees the opportunity to grow with us. The entire PR of the brand is taken care by our in-house team. We have a centralised call centre for all our incoming orders as well as online ordering app and website which is helping our franchisee to grow business at a faster pace.

Share with us the challenges you face in your business venture.

We provide all our franchisees the manuals, which give them every minute details of our business and helps them in day-to-day running of our outlets. We also have onsite training of the entire staff with our exclusive chefs and managers for the initial opening period. So, we nearly eliminate most of the challenges which are faced by a franchisee in F&B industry. Our entire team is dedicated and trained to overcome any challenges faced by our franchisee. Support is provided right from finalising a place to its designing, fabrication, installation, and training and even on everyday ongoing business.

What are your expansion plans?

Our future plan is to penetrate in the tier-II and III cities within India, which has loads of potential.  We already have more than 20+ stores which are opening by the end of 2015. We are looking at 100+ outlets in the next three years and also opening our first international outlet in Dubai by this year-end.
