5 Things a Successful Business Woman Would Never do

Both the Start Up and Stand Up India initiatives empower women entrepreneurs and provide financial assistance to those who are setting up their businesses.

Gone are the days when success was used synonymic with men, now women have taken over the command and match shoulders with their male counterparts.

In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a programme for skills development and also set up a subsidised loan scheme for businesses led by women.

Today, India boasts nearly 1.4 million women panchayat leaders – a number that is an indicator of the leadership roles women are increasingly taking up.

Skill India envisions to train over 400 million people in India by 2022.

He has unveiled a near $1 billion fiscal package for the textile sector, aiming to create more jobs for women.

Both the Start Up and Stand Up India initiatives empower women entrepreneurs and provide financial assistance to those who are setting up their businesses. The programmes also aid those who have already established their business but fall under the startup category. Through these schemes, the government aims to turn women from job-seekers to job-creators.

India has also witnessed some of the top businesswomen handling giant projects alone, take for example Arundhati Bhattacharya, the Chairperson of State Bank of India (SBI) and Chanda Kocchar, the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ICICI.

We are well aware of the top qualities of a successful businesswoman but here are top 5 things, she would never do:

  1. Wait for a Perfect Circumstance:

If you are waiting for a perfect day, when the perfect opportunity will come at your doorstep and then you will start your business, then let me burst that perfect thought bubble of myth.

There is no such perfect day or perfect opportunity, successful women go and grab whatever opportunities come their way.

  1. Cry Over the Past Mistakes:

We all go through ups and downs of life; one failure does not declare your end of business career. Moreover one should keep trying for new modes, ways and ideas, which will help the business, grow.

From scientists to farmers, learn from their mistakes, and move ahead with other plans. It is very important to fix the business with different methods, rather than crying foul over the past mistakes. The clock is ticking anyway, if you stop to cry, someone else is going to run over your tears and build her castle.

  1. Underestimate her Weaknesses:

The business world is very big and wild, and any businesswoman is like a transparent sheet for all. The rivals keep an eye on each one of you, one wrong move, and they would swallow your entire hard work.

A successful businesswoman is a self-made iron woman, who has either turned her weaknesses to strength or has left them in the past. She does not carry weak links on her shoulder to let her years-old business shatter at one blow.

  1. Ignore the rival:

There comes a time, when the business is at a secure position that is when business woman lose their grip over the market and start ignoring the rivals, especially the fresh ones.

A successful business woman knows her game well, which is why she never ignores her rivals. She always keeps her eyes open to keep a check on growth of the new players as well as the older rivals.

She does not turn them into her enemies but she is friendly to all but friend to none.

  1. Quits:

A project might take days, months, years but a strong headed and determined successful business woman would never quit, even if it strongly feels.

A self made business woman has faced more failure and criticism than anybody has, which is why she knows her craft inside out. Her polished craft gives her the confidence that even if she picks up a stone and start working on it, it will become a diamond someday. Such commitments are very important to be a successful business woman.
