IRCTC tied up with Dominos to deliver pizza across 12 stations

As part of its endeavour to offer wide variety to passengers to choose from and to make available to passengers the popular food items and brands in market, IRCTC has tied up with Jubilant Food Works Ltd, the parent company of Domino’s Pizza, on a trial basis.

“As per the arrangement, a passenger travelling in a train without pantry car will be able to place an order for a pizza of his choice either online (www.ecatering.irctc.co.in) or through a phone call which would be served at his seat in the train enroute,” said a senior IRCTC official.

The passengers can also send an SMS (“MEAL <PNR>” at 139). List of E-catering trains is available at website. The scheme is being extended to more and more trains.

Initially the services will be offered by Domino’s Pizza at twelve stations including, Agra Cantt. (AGC),Alwar, Jaipur, Ambala, Jalandhar Cantt, Mathura Junction, Muzzafar Nagar, New Delhi, Pathankot Cantt, VAPI, Bharuch and Vadodara.

Meanwhile, IRCTC, in its continuing efforts to bring in further benefits to the travelling rail passengers, started e-catering services on a specific section (Delhi – Amritsar), on a trial basis, from 25th September 2014, in non-pantry car trains.

E-catering facility has been extended to 120 trains, and more number of trains is being added to the list every few days.

IRCTC is tying up with reputed food suppliers across the country so as to offer wide variety to passengers to choose from. IRCTC shall be a platform to make available to passengers the popular food items/brands in market, as an option to existing choices available.

While passengers having waitlisted as well as confirmed ticket may book meals over phone, the facility through website is available for passengers having valid confirmed reservation ticket only. The services are available from 0600 hrs to 2200 hrs, currently. At present, the minimum order value is Rs. 60 per unit (vendor) per location/station.
