Debutant With the rise in competition, emphasis is being lead on building a strong educational base for toddlers. A number of entrepreneurs are coming up with the concept of play-school to impart quality education to tiny tots. In an interview with Devendra Gaur, CEO, Aadyant Education Pvt. Ltd shares the expansion plans of his play-school
Abha Garyali (AG): Tell us something about the origin, growth and success of ‘Aadyant Play School’?
Devendra Gaur (DG): Indian parents as well as scores of expatriates working in Delhi, hailing from various countries, understand the importance of play-nursery education for giving the right direction to their child's entire life. Therefore, Aadyant is the preferred play-school in the heart of Indian Capital. The concept of Aadyant play-school was laid down in 2004 whereas, it started functioning in July 2006.
AG: What made you think of expanding through franchise model?
DG: We feel that there is enough room for more play-schools, especially ‘quality play-schools’. We saw a good opportunity, and since we had already been associated with education and had built good brand equity over the years, we decided to enter into this business. Now it is a necessity as most of the parents are working and can not devote their full time to bring up their child. The awareness levels have increased along with the increasing income levels. There is a desire to invest more on the child.
AG: When did you start franchising? What are your recent developments?
DG: We launched our franchise plan at the Franchise India Holdings Limited (FIHL) event held recently in the Capital. Till now we have four franchised centres in Ludhiana, Gurgaon, Ambala and Delhi.
AG: What is the USP of Aadyant?
DG: The uniqueness of Aadyant Play School lies in its quality based operations. We have designed an admission kit to facilitate education process involving child, parents and the play-school.
AG: What qualities do you look in prospective franchisees for your company?
DG:The franchisee must be inclined towards child care education and should align with Aadyant’s Vision.
AG: How many franchisees do you plan to have in the next five years?
DG: We are now stepping in the market for the same and aim to have around 500 franchisees in the next five years.
AG: What all training and support do you provide to the franchisees?
DG: We ensure that our partners become a part of the team that is focused on supporting business with the best approach. We also provide the franchisee with:
AG: How much investment is required by an aspiring franchisee in terms of money and time?
DG: We have three basic models and one exclusive model to offer in the market. The investment for basic models would range from Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. one crore.
