Karthick Narayanasamy, Director-Technical, SR Environ
Waste water treatment is a unique concept introduced by SR Environ Pvt. Ltd to lessen the effects of global warming caused by continuously increasing pollution. In an interview, Karthick Narayanasamy, Director-Technical, SR Environ Pvt. Ltd shares the future franchise plans of the company.
Abha Garyali (AG): Share with us the inception of ‘SR Environ Pvt. Ltd’.
Karthick Narayanasamy (KN): SR Environ was founded in August 2008 in Chennai by three partners, namely Lakshmi Krishna, Karthick Narayanasamy and R.Anbu Selvan, with only one goal in mind to keep the environment clean.
AG: How is the concept of SR Environ Pvt. Ltd evolving in India?
KN: As people are getting aware of environmental pollution, the concept of SR
Environ is appreciated and well accepted by the people all over the country. The concept of treating waste water has become very important to keep our environment safe and fight climatic changes.
AG: What is the USP of SR Environ?
KN: The uniqueness of the concept involves:
- Compact (requires very less space)
- Low maintenance
- Odourless
- Less power consumption
AG: What inspired you to take the franchise route to expand?
KN: SR Environ Pvt Ltd desires to become the leading company in the field of sewage and effluent treatment plant. It is engaged in treating both domestic and industrial waste water. In doing so, it hopes to reverse the trend of polluted environment and ensure a healthy life to all the people in our country.
The biggest challenge which the country is facing today is the problem of controlling pollution. Due to this increase in pollution, there is a drastic increase in global warming. So, SR Environ believes in ‘cleaning the river and fighting climatic changes.’
AG: How many centers do you have at present? What are the future target locations for your expansion?
KN: At present, we are having only one center at Delhi and we will be opening another outlet at Gujarat shortly. Our target is to have franchises at each and every corner of our country.
AG: What kind of challenges can be faced while expanding the company through the franchise route? Please share these challenges with us.
KN: The main challenge faced by us will be to convince the clients. People are not really aware of waste water treatment and therefore do not employ such treatments. We have to make them understand the importance of our unique concept to make them employ such treatments for their own betterment.
AG: What kind of training and support a franchisee would get when partnering with you?
KN: A franchisee will be getting all kind of technical support and training from our Head office, which is located at Chennai. The franchisees will have to come for 10-15 days to Chennai to get technical training which will include practical demonstration of our treatment process, proficiency in handling clients etc. Moreover, we shall be there whenever a franchisee requires any help.
AG: What kind of background is necessary for securing a franchise of your company?
KN: Preference shall be given to people having knowledge in environmental science.
